Prof. Elaina Hyde will give a “Solar Tour” Zoom presentation on Friday April 5, 2024 at 7:00 pm. hosted at Our Queen Lady of the World High School!
Prof. Elaina Hyde is an astrophysicist, lecturer, consultant, and does research on galactic archaeology. At York University, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Director of the Allan I. Carswell Observatory. Prof. Hyde holds degrees from the University of Arizona, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, University of Amsterdam, and Macquarie University. Her research uses instrumentation and telescopes from around the world and combines them with astrophysics, data science, computing, and planetary sciences. Prof. Hyde is a strong advocate of science through her promotion of astronomy education to university students and the general public.
